This is the best Downtown Birmingham restaurant around!. This is the best restaurant in the downtown area!!!! You will be a fan once you try it. You may have a wait on some days, but it is worth it if you really like "home-cooking" at its best. The fresh veggies and the meats are great and you can call in if you would rather jsut pick it up. Advice: If you call in...call at NOT busy times..NOT during the peak breakfast, lunch or dinner times...they will have a hard time getting so many ready...call in between and you will be happier! I know from experience! I am going there now since it is an easy walk from my office and the day is beautiful!

GOOD FOOD AT FIFE'S RESTAURANT, DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM. This is a VERY unique place!!! It brings to mind the restaurants that you see on tv in towns that have older restaurants that have survived through all the years and are still going strong! A real plus for Birmingham downtown! My whole family loves Fife's and will ask to eat there rather on 280 where we live. The food is wonderful and there is so much of it!!. My parents ask me to bring them a plate back home to them each time we go. The baked chicken is delish and the fried green tomatoes are the best ..and I have traveled everywhere in these United States. Do not expect fancy...it is rustic and has not changed much in 50 years. John owns the place and he is there ALL the time..as are the same people that have worked there forever! It is safe and secure. If you like BIG meals and really real ice tea (it is made each day and is not fake!)..then go to this place. I would tell you to try breakfast..but be prepared to wait..it IS worth the wait..but it MIGHT be 30 minutes before you get a seat..yes!!! it is that GOOD!
