Nice Old Hotel. The Tutwiler is nice for an older hotel, however, it wouldn't be the best place for a family outing.

I stayed on a closed off floor, which was nice and offred a very sparse breakfast and cofee. The bar downstairs had a friendly staff. The rest of the staff was attentive and friendly.

The air was never just right always either freezing or too warm. I guess it's the curse of an old hotel. The place was fairly fun though. I like old places.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!. This hotel is vastly over-rated.I have stayed at better Hampton Inns.There was no check-in bell service.The phones didn't work properly.The room service person told me he was "too busy" to take my order.There were screaming kids running up and down the hall.We were late for our dinner reservation because of the hotel's inability(given 45 minutes notice) to get us a cab.If this is Birmingham's best, God help Birmingham.
