Birmingham's coolest bar imo. This place is awesome. The atmosphere and the sandwiches are always incredible.

The only downsides - they only take cash and the metal chairs outside are INCREDIBLY uncomfortable with the way they dig into your back. But it won't keep me away.

Unpleasant Owner.. The owner of this place is very unpleasant. I would not recommend that anyone go there and certainly will never go there again myself. There are many better bars run many nicer people. You should also know that this is not a "cafe" unless a few sandwiches turn a bar into a "cafe." It is just a pretty bad bar with a very unpleasant owner.

Keep the Garage a Secret! the Public might ruin it.. Tourists beware, you don't want to go here. Stay away. Locals know this is the coolest place on earth and they give the owners as much business as they can handle. They don't want it ruined by outsiders who only think they are hip, and overrunning the place with unmanagelable crowds. Locals, this is the best kept secret we have, why ruin it by advertising our secret hangout to the world? You want to keep your regular table in the courtyard, yes? to the owner: don't worry, we locals will ALWAYS keep you in business. Tourists, go away. This is a piece of heaven and we want to keep it that way.

Unbeatable atmosphere. Every city should covet this bar. The back patio, strewn with cement tables, chairs and statuary, invites you to find a nook, sit down and have a long chat with a friend. At night, the dark shadows crossing the patio create a sense of magic about the place. It's a great place to take a date, and the bar has a good beer selection.
