In Short – Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.

1st time not the last!!

by dwatters659 at Citysearch

Went there with a co-worker while here at work in B'ham. I live near Atlanta and I never tried the one there.

But, I absolutely loved it. It was fun... I loved the brown rice and the "special sauce" our server made for the yummy lettuce wraps. We got right in, but when we were leaving it was quite packed in the foyer.

The servers and greeters were very very nice.

All I can say is "Yummers"!!!!

  • Pros: ambience
  • Cons: parking was limited

Great Chinese food!!

by snm1718 at Citysearch

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Birmingham. We try to sit in a place where our kids can see the kitchen to watch the food being prepared. They don't have a kids menu, but my kids love the 'lo mein' (they like lots of things on the menu now). The food is always delicious. Our server is always polite, and friendly. They give you a choice of brown or white rice with your entree, and their sauces are wonderful. Our food is always piping hot. They give you generous servings (I always end up taking half of mine home with me). The food is served in bowls. I really like that, because you can share all of the entrees. If you go during their busy hours, it's hard to get a good parking place. I highly recommend if you've never been!

  • Pros: food, ambience, service
  • Cons: parking

I keep their number in my cell phone!

by lptoadvine at Citysearch

First of all, I don't even love Chinese food. Something about them drenching everything with sauce and the mystery meat doesn't appeal to me. But I LOVE this restaurant. They have the best hot and sour soup. I keep their number in my cell phone because they now take reservations - just call them up once you decide to go there. And if you forget to call ahead, you can walk to the book store during your wait. It's worth the wait.

  • Pros: Great food at great prices
  • Cons: the wait - but they now take reservations
