Good work environment!
by Alkyoneos at Citysearch
I worked at Altadena Valley for a period of about six years throughout high school and some of college. The scheduling was very flexible and the doctors treated me with respect and concern. Needless to say, I've taken the variety of pets I've owned over the last decade to Altadena and have never been dissatisfied with the level of service I've recieved, in fact just the opposite. I've always been able to make payments over a period of time and I can't imagine finding a friendlier atmosphere to care for my animals. As with all businesses, you will occasionally run into a poor employee which taints the experience for a certain group of customers. Hopefully, the concerns expressed in previous posts regarding the level of customer service are simply a matter of a single worker failing to perform.
seriously great clinic!

This clinic is great! Very helpful staff and caring vets. My dog fell off the deck and broke her leg. They rushed her in for immediatel treatment. They even let me split up my payments for her treatment. I can't say enough good things about how they took care of my baby!
- Pros: suites with web cams
Seriously?

I heard about AVAC from a friend and after seeing reviews on here I decided I would run by and check the place out for myself. In my experience the staff that "greeted" me was absolutely terrible. As I walked in there was a lady who was posted up at the front counter and I thought she was a customer so I waited patiently. The lady who was standing in front of me was head groomer and she resembled someone who had just come back from Woodstock or a Widespread Panic concert. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against either event, but I just expect their to be a level of professionalism that businesses should look to uphold. Anyways, she turned around to look and me and said "Hey......" in a completely unwelcoming way. I proceeded to speak with another lady who looked to be the receptionist and I asked her a little about the practice and then I asked her what her recommendations would be for an ear infection that my dog has. First off, when I walked into the place no one greeted me or seemed to be concerned that a potential customer just came into their facility. I would understand if they had a waiting room full of patients, but unfortunately this was not the case since the waiting room was empty. There was absolutely no enthusiam whatsoever in their staff. In my opinion, no matter what field you work in, great customer service is key to having a reputable practice and having repeat customers. If you want to take your beloved pet to a place where people sound like robots, say "take a number and we'll look at your cat, dog, lizard or whatever your animal is", and just blow you off than this is your place. I was not impressed in anyway with their frontline staff and I would much rather take my pet to a place where people care about their patients and really put forth effort in making their experience all the more enjoyable. With any kind of review I would certainly tell anyone to see for themselves what the business really is like, but in my experience I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
- Pros: A Veterinarian MD from a reputable veteranarian program.
- Cons: Terrible supporting staff
Not impressed.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by turtle1994 at Citysearch
To all of you stupid people that think this place has nice staff, YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG!!! Me,my mom, and my boyfriend went there with my kitten that needed help big time! They took him back and "pretended" to put him on oxygen. In the meantime, we waited for a doctor in one of the exam rooms. When she started talking about what was wrong with my kitten, my mom asked her if she could just pay $100 dollars, and come back and pay the rest of the $300 the next day. Well that *itch of a doctor(Dr. Cain or Cane however you spell it) told her that she wouldn't come back and pay the rest if the kitten died, and my mom said that she didn't know that, and that she would pay the rest if something did happen to it.
Then my mom got really TICKED off and asked her how long was she in this buisness, and the doctor said longer than you have had that damn cat.HOW LOVING!!! NOT!!!
Then my mom just said give me my kitten, and after that they baiscally shoved us out the door. Well our poor kitten DIED on the way home, when it could have been saved. Those people DO NOT care about how your animal is,nor do they care about you. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS WHAT THEY CAN MILK OUT OF YOUR WALET.BELIEVE ME!!!!!DON'T GO TO THIS JOKE OF AN EMERGENCY CENTER.!!!!
- Pros: ABSOLUTELY NONE
- Cons: VERY RUDE STAFF
