Fancy yet cozy. Best part-- it won't break the bank. Get the Roasted Bone Marrow and the BEST Hamburger you've ever had.

Tips for Chez Fon Fon

Some of the best cocktails in town and vegetarian friendly, avoid Friday nights. Do not go to Chez Fon Fon if you want to drink junk on the cheap. Do go to Chez Fon Fon if you want to get the most quality drinks your money can buy. Martinis are top shelf, around $7, and perfect. Better yet, order an "Orange Thing". It looks like a fruity drink and it is, but even manly men love them. All the cocktails are made with fresh juices and are all more than worth the price. Chez Fon Fon fills up on Friday nights especially so be sure to get there a little early and be patient. Ask about the hidden patio in the back and maybe plan to play a little bocci ball as well. Have a cocktail or two and some of their fresh pomme frites (uh, french fries) or even just a basket of their perfect French bread.

For dinner, most of the food is lovely if a little over priced. The only dissapointing thing is a very small chicken breast with mushrooms. Best thing not on the menu? The vegetable platter, at around $10 you will eat your fill of at least four of the vegetable sides the chef has on hand but you have to ask for it by name.

Save room for dessert, there are always specials as well as several staple items. The P-o-t de Creme is nothing amazing so go for the chocolate nut tart instead. It is simultaniously sweet, salty, crunchy, buttery, chewy, nutty, creamy and of course, chocolatey.

The service is as promt as limited seating will allow. The clientele tends to be on the well dressed side but I have never had bad service even when I show up in extremely (jeans and a t-shirt) casual dress.

Again, citysearch is informing me that they "found a few glitches". I can't use the word "P-O-T" in my review because it's "inappropriate". Really? We can't write food reviews while using either of the words "P-O-T" or "B-A-L-L-S". That's insane. No "Blank de Creme" or "Grilled Rice Blanks".
