Travel Abroad without Leaving Home. This is my absolute favorite restaurant anywhere. For my birthday, I drove in from out-of-state to have dinner. It's a little expensive. Sometimes, they have a buy-one-get-one coupon in the Birmingham Entertainment coupon book. They make fresh salsa table-side in volcano bowls and serve with homemade potato and plantain chips. It's pretty spicy, so I prefer it mild. If you have never had a mojito mixed drink, this is the place for your first one. It's fresh and minty, extraordinary! I always order the pork medallians in syrup with black bean pancakes (worth ordering an extra side of)! There's nothing like it. The atmosphere is fantastick and romantic. Come with a small group, but leave the kids at home. You will feel transported to a luxurious and fun Latin getaway. We've never had to wait for a seat, but we always make reservations, just in case. One of the city's best. Surprisingly, very little attention is paid to this very well located place and its very talented chef/owner. I am not certain that you can have a bad meal here. Huge variety of latin flavors in a very comfortable setting. The salsa made tableside is NOT to be missed.
