Great Food, Not so great Service. I have been to Pablos and both loactions, here and Colonade. Both locations have the worst service I have ever expirienced at a Mexican restaraunt. Usually you are greeted within the first minute of sitting down, here your lucky if its the first five minutes. Then you have to wait forever if you want drinks and if you havnt gotten up and left yet your lucky if you get your order taken. I will say it is worth the bad service because the food is yummy, unlike any local Mexican and at an okay price. If you go for lunch and are the only people you will get better service but still not good. I have spoken with the manager countless times but they just dont know how to run the dining room floor like they run their kitchen. I want to give them 5 stars for their food and one star for service. So 3 it is.

Worst Service. We have been to this restaurant at a different location and the taste was ok. But at this particular location, the service was worst. First of all we were asked to wait for a long time even though seats were available. After getting seated, we were served cold drinks and chips. The waiter did not come back to us till 45 mins later. The waiters there were more concerned about few big groups who were having liquor as compared to us who were having soda on that day. After 45 mins, when I went to tell them that nobody is taking care of us, the hostess is not even apologetic. She didnt seem to mind. The place was not that crowded in the first place. This is the worst service I have ever received in Birmingham. This place made me wonder if the service is only given to people who spend lot of my on drinks and have more guests in group. I would never ever go to this place again.

Better than the average flavor. I hate to say it but, lots of Mexican restaurants in Birmingham are about the same. Its hard to tell their menus apart, but usually each one has its own distinctions. For Pablos, its the flavor of their food. Not at all bland, the flavor of some dishes (like their Steak Fajita Salad) really come to life. The ingredients seem to blend well too Like the particularly sweet onions they put in their Steak Quesadilla which makes for an excellent overall taste. Get the number 5 or the 16. You'll be happy.
