Aside from the shills on here and liars.... Aside from this last guy shilling for his bar in the middle of the hood, most comments here seem accurate. Not at all to see some lies though. Number 1, NO staff member of this place has EVER been drunk, period. They dont drink at work, from the owner (who doesnt drink at all) to the staff. If you didnt get treated well, first i think you are lying, and second, you were probably acting like an ass, or tried to bring in underage people. Classiest run bar in Birmingham, period. Drink prices are reasonable, and the staff is top notch. Period.

Inspiration to open our own!. As a newcomer to the area, and avid karaoke enthusists, my wife and I were dragged here. The drinks were quite expensive, and even though I myself am a smoker, I didn't need to light up because the smoke was already so thick in the air. The food was tasteless and expensive, and everything took so long. To think I actually paid a cover charge to get in! The bartender was friendly, but the KJ was incompetent. We were there for about 3 hours, time we'll never get back, and were up to sing only twice! Poor rotation. It actually inspired my wife and I to open our own karaoke spot...Baritones Karaoke Lounge & Grill!! Come see us, 2401 Carson Road, Birmingham, AL .

Excellent bar! Fantastic Staff!. I've become a regular at Starz on 280, and was shocked to see some of the negative comments in a couple of the reviews! The bartenders and waitresses are extremely talented and always friendly! At times they are so busy they may not be able to have a conversation with you, but they are all very good at what they do. I know the server with reddish-brown hair, and though she is friendly and silly, she never flirts with her guests, and I have offered to buy the staff drinks before, and they refuse to drink on the job! Also, no offense to the black person that wrote a review, but chances are you were not tipping well and/or at all. If you want good service you must pay for it. I have been a server in the past, and waitresses make all of their money off tips. Anyhow, the drinks are fantastic, you get what you pay for, and it's a lot of fun! The music is usually pretty diverse, and the karaoke rotation is very fair. Their sound system is great as well! Be sure to stop by Starz, sing your heart out, and tip your bartenders and wait staff!

Fun bar, and tons of songs to choose from!. Simple place, with fun lighiting and stage for singers. Good drinks. Yes, some people smoke, but it's not too smoky compared to other bars. On most nights the songs are a mix of everything from Sinatra to country to rock to rap.

Bad Bartenders!. I went to the Starz Karaoke Lounge and not only was it super smoky and loud, the bartenders were drunk and trying to sing. There was this one brunette bartender on a thursday night who couldn't carry a toon if had two handels on it! Not only was she a bad singer, she was flirting with every dude in there-exept me. I guess she doesnt like black guys. b*@#$! I think her name was courtney or conney or something like that. Guys, if you want an easy pick-up-go see this girl!

not a recommended establishment if you are not white. spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. been at least 2 times before, but didn't catch it until tonight. spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere unless you're white and like to sing country songs. because if you're a different ethnic background, you'll be placed at the end of the song list. b.s.

Too Smokey. We went to enjoy a good night of karaoke fun but were unhappily surprised. Lots of drunken hicks (dancing on tables, knocking over your drinks, dancing on stage, screaming at each other) and no bouncer. Poor wait staff. Poor facilities. Overpriced food and beverages. Long wait for EVERYTHING. Full of smoke.
