Relaxing!!. This spa is a wonderfully relaxing experience whether it is a message, facial or manicure. After a facial with Mary, my skin glows for a month! As a masseuse, Michael is one of the best! Highly recommend!

Amazing staff, fair prices, great spa!. My entire family has been going to Santa Fe Day Spa for several years. We love it! I regularly get facials with Mary, who truly cares for her client's skin. I also get my haircut regularly and have never had a bad sylist. I highly recommend Santa Fe to everyone I can. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and have everything you need.

VERY enjoyable!. I am new to Birmingham and have not been able to find a day spa that was on par to what I am used to. I started off with a wonderful swedish massage. The best I have had in a long while! I then had a haircut. I had been wanting a new style for some time, but was a little nervous letting someone I had never met do that. But she listened to me, offered her advice, and I left with a great new style! I will definitely be returning! The only drawback I saw was that it is on the second floor, and access for some people could be difficult.

Enjoyable. I enjoyed my massage. The pedicure was good, except for the double dipping into the scrub...maybe not so smart. I did notice that a few of the women doing nails had warts! yikes...maybe wearing gloves would help. My 'snack' consisted of a fruit tray, but I wrote on my profile being allergic to some fruit and I didn't get my drink with my snack. I didn't complain b/c everyone was so pleasant. Overall it was a good experience, if you can overlook some things. I'll probably just get the massage next time.

RESPONSE. Being that we are a customer service based company, we welcome all input from our guests. However, when a guest chooses to post negative on-line comments, it makes it very difficult for us to respond when we don’t have enough details. We need a name, date of service, etc. in order to be able to investigate and solve any issues that did in fact take place. We have also had ex-employees try to discredit our spa by posting complaints while posing as a guest. If a guest contacts us via email or by phone, we ALWAYS respond and go out of our way to make sure that guests comments are taken seriously and resolved. There is nothing we can do to resolve an issue for a guest who does not contact us to let us know there was a problem.

TO MUCH MONEY FOR A NONPROFESSIONAL SPA,. I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT SANTA FE DAY SPA HAS ALOT OF SERVICES TO PICK FROM, AND I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY IMPLOYEE PEOPLE THAT HAVE A VERY LOW LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE IN THERE LINE OF WORK. THE OWNERS ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN THE WAY THEY SPEAK TO THERE EMPLOYEES IN A DISTURBING WAY THAT DID NOT ALLOW ME TO ENJOY MY SERVICES, I ALSO SAW SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE SEEN. I HAVE PAID FOR NAILS AND HAIR SERVICE AND WHEN I WAS WAITING I SAW THE NAIL TECHS REUSING ORANGE WOOD STICKS THAT WERE USED ON OTHER CLIENTS . AS A CLLIENT AND DOING RESEARCH THOUGH STATE BOARDS, I WAS TOLD THAT ORANGE WOOD STICKS ARE NOT TO BE REUSED ON OTHER CLIENTS DUE TO THAT WOOD HAS PORES THAT ABSORB BACTERIA AND CAN NOT BE SANITIZED BY ANYTHING AND CAN TRANSMIT HIV, STDS,AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF FUNGUSES AND IT IS AGAINST SALON HEALTH REGULATIONS TO REUSE ORANGE WOOD STICKS. I ALSO SAW WHEN GOING TO THE BATHROOM THE TUBE HAD A ORANGE RING AROUND IT AND THERE WAY OF CLEANING IT WAS TO JUST ADD BLEACH. I WILL NOT BE RETURING

Enjoyed it. I was scared to go to my spa day as I was uncomfortable about the massage - we all get that awkward feeling of not knowing what to expect. Anyhow, it was a spa day for two, so me and a friend went. She had been to a massage before, so she had an idea what to expect, but what she had with Santa Fe was "MUCH better" as she described. I believe the man who did mine, was named Michael - whatever his name was anyway - he was WONDERFUL! I felt so comfortable, he was professional and I seriously felt like I was in heaven the entire 55 minutes of my Sweedish massage. We then had facials, which made our skin feel so fresh and new. Then we had manicures and they did a really good job.

I probably won't go back for the other services, except the massage, but only because it felt so good to have that massage done, that I don't want to do ANYTHING after it :)

Don't forget when you read all these other peoples reviews, that most people who seek out reviews, are ones who have to complain about something. The majority of them were probably exagerating and have nothing better to do. I know this because I work in a restaurant where we get emails and feedback more regularly from negative people because they "HAVE" to have their voices heard. Not a lot of people think to go out there and prove to others that their experience was good, because those simply return to the place they went to and that's the way to show they like it.

BEWARE!! unprofessional and overrated spa... i have been to this spa in the past and had services that were enjoyable. i recently patroned santa fe again after a hiatus of about a year. to my suprise, all of the service providers that i requested no longer work there. i still gave it a shot and booked 2 services on the same day.

during my visit, i sat in the nail area and listened to DRAMA about the place from the nail techs!! it was NOT RELAXING OR PROFESSIONAL. they talked badly about the owners and other customers that had JUST left. i wondered if they were going to talk about me next.

as for my facial, the therapist left me alone in the room with too much steam on my face for at least 15 minutes.. when she returned, she smelled like an ashtray. i was appalled. again, unprofessionalism at its worst! not to mention the fact that the product she left on my face caused redness that lasted a couple of days.

i would no longer recommend this spa. the staff and the overall atmosphere has gone downhill.

The best in town. I have been going to Santa Fe for years. I have always been treated like gold. I started getting all my services done here because they care about the quality of service I get. I have gone to other salons and never have the customer service I get at Santa Fe. I am compelled to write this because I believe that they truly are the best in town and will do what it takes to make their clients happy.

Will Not Be Returning. I'm not usually one for rating businesses, but my experience at Santa Fe Day Spa has compelled me to do so. I recently had an appointment for a pedicure. When I arrived, I was promptly checked in and given a tour of the facility since I was a first time client. After my tour, I was escorted to the mani/pedi room for my service. Everything went well...then a couple of days went by. I noticed a blue haze forming on my polish after taking a shower. I tried re-washing my toenails, but nothing would get it off. To make matters worse, I then DEVELOPED AN INFECTION in one of my big toes! After paying $55 plus a 20% tip, I would expect the spa to be sanitary and for my pedicure to last more than 2 days.

I spoke with the manager to let her know about my experience. I told her that I was not calling to accuse anyone, but wanted to let her know what happened and that she may want to check their products. She was unapologetic and refused to acknowledge the spa is using bad products. She also ignored the fact that I received an infection. I was not looking for a refund but was expecting some form of compassion. I really wanted to like this spa. Unfortunately health comes before beauty, so I will not be returning for anymore services.
