5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I have been to the salon 3 times. It has always been clean. I was so impressed with the cut and style that I decided to go back. Mind you I am very picky about my hair, since I am a multicultural girl. Its hard for me to find someone who can do my hair the way it needs to be done. With that being said, I would highly recommend James or Oliver. They are FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the fact that they have a diverse clientele that includes not only African Americans, but our European sisters as well. Last but surely not least I am a part of the Mixed clientele as well... FABO JOB

Pros: PARKING, CONVENTIENT APPTS. CUT & COLOR EXPERTS!!!!! THEY ROCK

Cons: NOT HARDLY

I went to this salon a total of 3 months. Out of desperation I tried to work with them to see if I could find a stylist in BHM. This salon is not familiar with hair that is a mixture of textures. The owner tried to follow my cut and I left there looking like a bowl was placed on my head reaching to my ears and my hair was cut at that length with the rest two inches down my back. I didn't notice it until I washed it myself and tried to set it. I went back and he apologized and cut it again for no charge, but for two weeks I looked really bad. I get my hair done regularly and I was willing to try and work with the salon. So I continued coming back I preferred wet sets but because it would take so long I started letting them blow-dry and flatiron my hair. BIG MISTAKE. After several weeks, I tried to pull my hair back in a pony tail and noticed that my hair had been quite evenly burned off in the back on both sides from an overheated flat iron. (My husband told me my hair smelled burned on one occasion) As I examined the rest of my hair I noticed this was also the case around the entire fringe of my hair. The are used to doing one type of hair and if you do not have that type of hair then go somewhere else. Additionally I asked for a touch up relaxer and they pulled it through to the ends. Now I have super straight ends.

Pros: flexible appointments

Cons: Not used to mixed texture hair
