Jim N Nicks BBQ has more upscale menu items and prices. While still being affordable, it rises above the typical bbq joint and provides finer food and better service. The Pig in the Potato Patch (a HUGE potato filled with bbq and all the fixins) is unbeatable! They also have a great beer selection and the prices are very reasonable. At St. Patrick's Day they even had green colored beer flowing straight from the tap!!

good food but bad service

I love Jim n NIck's food, but the service is lacking....It takes too long to get refills on the drinks...you are lucky if the waiter comes back to the table.... the beer is never cold and it is almost impossible to get a second drink......after many tries at dining inside and even complaining to the owners regarding poor service, we finally stopped eating there...as much as we enjoyed the food, the poor, slow service drove us away....the few times that we have been back, we ordered take out.......but when we want to dine in and order before dinner drinks, it is NOT Jim n Nicks....as I said, after being seated and receiving your drink and food, you are lucky if your waiter stops back at your table....

Why bother?

We've gone here annually for years. It's not the "best place" but it's predictable. Our recent visit for our 17-person group was a disaster. Our waiter was completely "out of it." We understand the challenges of a large group, but he would completely disappear for 15-min at a time. Drinks took 30 min to arrive. Tables around us that were sat after us were done eating before we even got our food, which when received was not up to its usual so-so standards. After 2 hrs the last of us finally got our food. Some entrees were cold. I found a paper label in my green beans. We spoke to the manager/owner and he comped the meal. We felt bad about this, but everything was so terrible. Maybe one of their other locations might have been better. We are pretty jaded and probably won't go back.
