This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites.. In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.

1st time not the last!!. Went there with a co-worker while here at work in B'ham. I live near Atlanta and I never tried the one there. But, I absolutely loved it. It was fun... I loved the brown rice and the "special sauce" our server made for the yummy lettuce wraps. We got right in, but when we were leaving it was quite packed in the foyer.

The servers and greeters were very very nice.

All I can say is "Yummers"!!!!

Never Fails!. This place never fails. I come here with business partners from time to time. Great team here- hostesses very friendly, servers always on top of things, we've spoken to the manager before to compliment a great establishment.

Great Chinese food!!. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Birmingham. We try to sit in a place where our kids can see the kitchen to watch the food being prepared. They don't have a kids menu, but my kids love the 'lo mein' (they like lots of things on the menu now). The food is always delicious. Our server is always polite, and friendly. They give you a choice of brown or white rice with your entree, and their sauces are wonderful. Our food is always piping hot. They give you generous servings (I always end up taking half of mine home with me). The food is served in bowls. I really like that, because you can share all of the entrees. If you go during their busy hours, it's hard to get a good parking place. I highly recommend if you've never been!

I keep their number in my cell phone!. First of all, I don't even love Chinese food. Something about them drenching everything with sauce and the mystery meat doesn't appeal to me. But I LOVE this restaurant. They have the best hot and sour soup. I keep their number in my cell phone because they now take reservations - just call them up once you decide to go there. And if you forget to call ahead, you can walk to the book store during your wait. It's worth the wait.

Great, if you don't mind waiting. I have been coming here for years. However, the waits are agonizing. Hardly any room to move in the lobby once you are waiting. Hostesses almost too busy to care about anyone except paperwork in front of them. If you do come in contact with the hostesses, ask for "Rose." She is the only one that actually communicates with the customers that come in. Great service usually from our waiter. Our waiters are always prompt and friendly. "Christian" is our favorite waiter. Maybe a few slight mess-ups here and there, but overall great service. Managers stop by tables to briefly speak to customers which is nice. Floors are always slippery. My wife nearly fell flat on her face while getting up from our table. Overall, great place to go with our kids. No kids menu though- be aware..we were told that there was no kid's menu after the fact we sat down and our 5 year old was handed a regular menu. Overall good place.

You can't beat this Chinese cuisine. You can't beat this food. It's savory. If you love spicy go with the Hot Fish, a signature dish. It's catfish stir fried in a spicy oyster like sauce. The lettuce wraps are good too.

Best Chinese in Birmingham. I have dined here 30+ times and have never had a bad experience. Weekends can have up to a 2 hour wait, so make a reservation. Try the chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer...a little messy, but very good. I usually get the Chang's Spicy Chicken for an entree. If you like spicy, this is your dish.

Try it - you'll LIKE it !. The food was outstanding, we were seated quickly & the atmosphere @ P.F. Chang's was cozy, despite the fact that it is a fairly large place. It would be an excellent place to take a date. The waitress, although pleasant & very attentive, did not have one of her better night however; she brought several things we DID NOT order, while 'missing' things which we did, as well as mixing up the types of wine we ordered. Things were recitified however, when we were given the non-odered items as EXTRA, without being changed, as well as 2 additional glasses of wine, again w/o being charged.

All-in-all, I'd go back to Chang's on my next Birmingham visit.
